FAQ

I’ve never bought plants online. What can I expect when receiving a Velvet Leaf Plant Co. package?

Your plants will be carefully wrapped and packed to prevent soil and plants from shifting while in transit. You plant will be packed in a Kraft paper sleeve and packing paper to protect the leaves and stems during transit and stabilized in the box to reduce movement. We recommend tearing the sleeve gently from the top to the bottom of the sleeve to carefully remove the plant.

The plant will be in a plastic poly bag in case any soil fell out of the pot during transit and rubber bands will be secured around the base of the plant. Carefully remove or cut the rubber band away being sure not to cut any leaves. We may include a layer of sphagnum moss on top of the soil and the moss will need to be removed after unpacking.

Your plant may need to be watered - check the soil! We strongly recommend allowing your plants to acclimate to their new environment for 14 days before repotting.

When will the plant I want be restocked?

Due to our rotating inventory and varying growth times for plants, we can’t provide specific timelines for availability.

You can view all of our plants in the ‘All Plants’ collection. Get notified when specific plants are back in stock on the website by clicking ‘Notify When Available’ and you’ll be emailed as soon as the plant is restocked!

Do you offer in-person shopping?

Our greenhouse is closed to the public and all of our services are offered online. We ship nationwide and offer local next-day delivery for customers in or near Slidell, LA. See checkout for details.

Product photos are an accurate representation of the plant you will receive, but not all plants are created equal! If you would like to see an individual plant that we have in stock from a different angle, send us an email at info@velvetleafco.com.

Velvet Leaf Plant Co. is always a safe space for all and we want attendees to feel welcomed and free to be themselves. Attendees are required to respect hosting staff and fellow attendees. We maintain a zero tolerance policy regarding bullying, harassment, hate speech (racism, homophobia, xenophobia), etc. during our live events.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping times vary depending on your location and the shipping service you select at checkout.

Our greenhouse is located in SE Louisiana just outside New Orleans. We fulfill orders within the processing time noted in the announcement bar at the top of our website and it typically takes 3-7 business days for delivery within the continental US once your order ships. Orders are only shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to avoid transit time over the weekend. Your plants will be packaged with care for a safe journey to their new home! Heat packs and shipping insurance are included.

Please note that certain high-value plants and items will require express/overnight shipping and will be noted in the listing.

Example: You place an order on Thursday, 2/15/24. We will package and ship your order between 2/19/24-2/21/24.

Do you use heat packs in the winter?

Our team monitors the weather for each region we ship to and will include a heat pack and/or other winter shipping materials at no additional cost. No need to worry about requesting one!

As a friendly heads up, if your daytime temperatures drop below 30° Fahrenheit, it may not be ideal to order certain live plants. When checking your weather, keep in mind fulfillment (including shipping) times are 3-10 business days. Our team wants to make sure you receive the best quality, so in extreme temperatures, we might hold or cancel your order. If you have any questions about winter shipping, send us an email at info@velvetleafco.com.

Can I change or combine orders?

We cannot guarantee your ability to change your order as it depends on where the order is in fullfillment. If there is still time, we will be happy to make any changes to your order. All sales are final once a tracking number is attached to your order.

If you have placed additional orders and would like them combined, please email info@velvetleafco.com. If we’re able to combine your shipments, we will refund any shipping costs from the multiple orders or if the new order subtotal exceeds $99.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

No, we do not accept any returns or exchanges on any of our plants - all sales are final. If you have placed an order that has not shipped, we may be able to make changes to the order but this is never guaranteed. Orders are finalized when a tracking number is attached and no changes will be made.

We strongly recommend that you’re sure of your purchase before ordering as Velvet Leaf Plant Co. does not offer refunds on any plants. If a plant is dead on arrival or sustained damage during transit that drastically changes the overall look and health of the plant, we will either replace the plant if it is in stock or issue a non-expiring store credit for use on a future order.

Do you have a rewards program?

We do! Simply create an account with us and earn points when you shop.*

There are numerous ways to earn and redeem points with us, and you can find the details by clicking “Rewards” on our website. Of the many ways, we celebrate your birthday! Points are automatically added on the day of your birth as entered. Be sure to add your birthday to your account at least 30 days prior to your birthday.

*Points are only awarded to orders placed direct from our website. Orders placed on TikTok and other sales channels are ineligible for the Velvet Leaf Plant Co. Rewards Program and no points will be rewarded.

I have a question about my order containing Rosebud HomeGood items. Who do I contact?

While Velvet Leaf Plant Co. does not produce or fulfill RoseBud HomeGoods items directly, we stand by them! If there are any damages upon arrival, reach out to us, but it may be faster to email Mothernature@poweredbyrosebud.com directly! Please be sure to include your VLPC order number and pictures of the concerned items when emailing for quick support.
