Our Packing Process

We take great care when packing your new plants. Our goal is to get them to you happy and healthy! See below for a step-by-step on how we package our plants for shipment.

Step 1:
We use wood fiber or sphagnum moss to cover the soil to minimize spillage.

Step 2:
The wood fiber or moss is placed over the soil, right under the foliage.

Step 3:
We then use a plastic bag to cover the planter and wood fiber/moss.
Step 4:
Next, we secure the bag around the base of the plant with a rubber band to keep everything in place.

Step 5:
We place the houseplant in a Kraft paper sleeve and secure it with a rubber band.

Step 6:
We pack your plant(s) in our custom shipping boxes with care for a safe journey to their new home. We may stabilize the plant by inserting a bamboo stake to
prevent any movement during transit. The plants may also be taped to the siding of the box to further stabilize during transit.
Please note: The bamboo stake will need to be removed FIRST to prevent any damage when removing your new plant from its packaging.
After your new plant has been removed from all of it's packaging, make sure to remove any moss or wood fiber from the top layer to allow the soil to breath. Failure to remove the moss or wood fiber may lead to root rot if the soil isn’t allowed to breath.
Pro tip: reuse the bamboo stake as a support pole for a plant of yours that might need it! Sphagnum moss can also be reused for propagations or making moss poles.
